Update for Clients

  • We appreciate this is a challenging time for our clients, their supporters and the community and we urge everyone to apply common sense, follow the hygiene advice and continue to be kind to one another.

Guidestar are carefully assessing the situation each day and have put appropriate measures in place for our teams and our clients. Services remain open at this time.

Coronavirus is a respiratory illness, with symptoms ranging from a mild cough to pneumonia. Some people recover quickly and easily, and other may get very sick, very quickly.

Good hygiene can prevent infection for most people. The Department of Health website has key resources to help you understand if:

    • you are at risk
    • need to isolate yourself and
    • how to prevent contracting the virus.

How is Guidestar Preparing?

Guidestar are following all advice from government and key health agencies including:

  • Washing hands frequently with soap and water, before and after eating, and after going to the toilet.
  • Covering coughs and sneezes, disposal of tissues, and washing hands.
  • If unwell, avoiding contact with others (stay more than 1.5 metres from people).
  • Exercise personal responsibility for social distancing measures.

To minimise risks to our staff, our clients, and the community in general Guidestar are reducing any face-to-face meetings and using telephone or videoconferencing services instead. Please ask us if you would like to arrange this option.

It is very important that Guidestar is informed if a client becomes unwell, especially if symptoms include a fever, cough, sore throat or tiredness. Clients, family members and carers must advise us if anyone in their home is unwell or had contact with someone who has been confirmed to have COVID-19.

If any visitors or people accessing our services present with or may be experiencing symptoms we kindly ask that you avoid physically attending our site and contact your Guidestar team member to talk about alternative methods of contact.

The situation and information is changing frequently and Guidestar will continue to keep you informed as further information becomes available as we provide supports during this time.

In tough times, we know that Australians show their true strength and kindness and we know this will be no different.

We urge everyone to remain calm and listen to the official advice of health authorities.
